Vino

Cape Town is known for its grey winter weather (yes, it’s winter here, see earlier blogs on climate and weather) and I was repeatedly warned that my trip may be cold and wet. We checked the five-day forecast and noticed Tuesday, our first full day, was supposed to be grey. Well, we bit the bullet and decided to do indoor activities. We tasted wine at three vineyards in Durbanville Hills and suffered through a leisurely meal afterwards. I ate ostrich medallions (just like beef- yes, ostrich is a red meat) and tried spring bok. It was a nice day to relax and take a deep breath from the work and history while enjoying the culture.

Our first stop, where a talkative wine steward introduced the tasting process for us.

Myself, Meredith and Chris at Nitida, the only wine that I particularly enjoyed, and I enjoyed it quite a bit!

Doesn't this place just look sketchy?

The climbing is not under the influence of alcohol… it's just who I am.
